They were born in Greece more than 3000 years ago. Pies have been made of a crust which is made of flour, olive oil, water and salt and the filling was made of ingredients, still found in abundance in our country, such as spinach, leek and kafkalithres (hartwort), culinary herbs, feta cheese etc.

The result; a tasty good and quick meal with no need to heat it up that people would take with them to the fields or the mountains.
